Tom Felton will return to the role of Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, marking his first time reprising the character since the film series concluded 14 years ago.

The actor will join the cast at New York City’s Lyric Theatre starting November 11, making him the first performer from the original Harry Potter films to take on their character in the stage adaptation. This engagement will serve as Felton’s Broadway debut, with performances scheduled through March 22, 2026.

“Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Felton stated. “Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play. It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoesโ€”and of course his iconic platinum blond hairโ€”and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community.”

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child takes place 19 years following the original series’ conclusion, depicting Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco as they navigate sending their children to Hogwarts. The production stems from an original story developed by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany.

The theatrical production premiered in London’s West End in 2016, with the Broadway version opening in 2018. Additional productions have launched globally in Hamburg, Melbourne, Toronto, and Tokyo.

Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions serve as the show’s producers.

Producers Friedman and Callender released a joint statement: “As fans of the wizarding world ourselves, we feel incredibly fortunate to welcome Tom into our Cursed Child family on Broadway and to offer Harry Potter fans around the globe the once-in-a-lifetime excitement of seeing him reprise this iconic role, this time on stage in New York City.”

They continued, “This moment is powerful on many levelsโ€”Tom will be making his Broadway debut and is marking a full-circle moment for not just himself, but for Draco too. He gets to inhabit Draco once more, but this time as an adult facing the relatable challenges of parenthood and the complicated meaning of legacy.”

Following the conclusion of the Harry Potter film franchise, Felton has maintained an active presence in theater and television. He made his West End debut in 2022, performing as Sam in 2:22 A Ghost Story, followed by his portrayal of Bob Edwards in Gareth Farr’s A Child of Science at Bristol Old Vic in 2024.

His television work includes appearances in The Flash, Murder in the First, the miniseries Full Circle, and Ridley Scott’s Labyrinth. Film credits encompass Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Belle, and In Secret alongside Jessica Lange, Elizabeth Olsen, and Oscar Isaac, plus Netflix productions A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting and The Forgotten Battle.

High Court Decision Awaited on Wimbledon Tennis Site Expansion Challenge

A High Court judge is scheduled to deliver a ruling on Monday regarding a legal challenge to the approved expansion of the Wimbledon tennis venue. Save Wimbledon Park (SWP) campaigners brought the challenge against the Greater London Authority's (GLA) 2023 decision to approve the All England Club's development plans. The proposed expansion would nearly triple the tournament site's size by adding 38 tennis courts and constructing an 8,000-seat stadium on the former Wimbledon Park Golf Club grounds. Mr. Justice Saini will announce his decision at 2pm on Monday. The All England Club acquired the golf club property from members in 2021 with development intentions, subsequently submitting planning applications to both Merton and Wandsworth councils, as the park spans both boroughs. Diddy Jury Splits On Sex Trafficking But Convicts On Prostitution Charges

A federal jury delivered a split verdict in the trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs, finding him guilty of transporting individuals for prostitution while acquitting him on more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges. After more than seven weeks of testimony about drug-fueled celebrity parties, the jury ruled that prosecutors failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Combs used "force, fraud, or coercion" to compel former girlfriends into commercial sex acts during events known as "freak-offs." The case centered on testimony from two women: singer Casandra "Cassie" Ventura Fine and a woman identified as "Jane," both former girlfriends of Combs. Prosecutors argued Combs used financial influence, violence and blackmail threats to coerce the women into performing sex acts at his parties. Key evidence included March 2016 surveillance video showing Combs beating Ventura in a hotel hallway and dragging her away. Ventura […]
