Five Skiers Found Dead in Swiss Alps

Five skiers have been discovered dead in the mountains near Zermatt, Switzerland's renowned luxury resort destination. The Canton Valais prosecutors' office reported that emergency services received an alert about abandoned skis found at approximately 4,000 meters altitude in the Rimpfischhorn mountain area. This discovery prompted rescue operations in the region located in southwest Switzerland, close to the Italian border. Following comprehensive air and ground search efforts, rescue teams located the five bodies near the Adlergletscher glacier. Air Zermatt, the local airline that provides search and rescue services, reported that three bodies were recovered from avalanche debris several hundred meters below the location where the skis were initially spotted.
