Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the Robertson family featured in A&E’s reality series Duck Dynasty, has died at age 79. The Robertson family announced his passing through social media posts on Sunday, May 25.

Robertson had been battling Alzheimer’s disease, a diagnosis that his family publicly disclosed in December. His son Jase Robertson shared the news of his father’s death on X, stating that Phil had “gone to be with the Lord.” Granddaughter Sadie Robertson Huff posted a tribute on Instagram featuring family photos spanning multiple years.

Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie Robertson, released a joint statement on Instagram announcing that Phil “is now with the Lord.” They thanked supporters whose lives had been impacted by Robertson’s life and indicated plans for both a private service and a future public celebration of his life.

The Alzheimer’s diagnosis was first revealed on the December 6 episode of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast. Jase Robertson described his father as being in the “early stages” of the disease at that time. He later explained that the condition had “accelerated” and was affecting Robertson’s entire body, noting that his father was “really struggling.”

During an April 2 podcast episode, Jase provided an update on his father’s condition, describing Phil as “not good” and explaining that the family was focused on keeping him comfortable.

Duck Dynasty premiered on A&E and chronicled the Robertson family members, including Phil and Kay Robertson, along with their sons Jase, Willie, and Jep, plus grandchildren and employees, as they operated their family business, Duck Commander. The series concluded in 2017 after 11 seasons and generated several spinoff shows, including Going Si-Ral, Jep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty, At Home with the Robertsons, and Duck Family Treasure. A&E announced in January that Duck Dynasty: The Revival would return to the network.

Phil Robertson, a Louisiana native, established Duck Commander in 1972, founding the hunting company around a patented duck call design. He married Kay when she was 17 years old, following her pregnancy with their first son. The Robertson family has expanded significantly since the original series ended, with many younger family members starting families of their own.

Trump has communicated planned tariffs to various countries through official letters and established agreements with major trading partners, including the European Union and Japan. These "frameworks" contain unresolved issues while implementing previously unprecedented levy structures. High Court Decision Awaited on Wimbledon Tennis Site Expansion Challenge

A High Court judge is scheduled to deliver a ruling on Monday regarding a legal challenge to the approved expansion of the Wimbledon tennis venue. Save Wimbledon Park (SWP) campaigners brought the challenge against the Greater London Authority's (GLA) 2023 decision to approve the All England Club's development plans. The proposed expansion would nearly triple the tournament site's size by adding 38 tennis courts and constructing an 8,000-seat stadium on the former Wimbledon Park Golf Club grounds. Mr. Justice Saini will announce his decision at 2pm on Monday. The All England Club acquired the golf club property from members in 2021 with development intentions, subsequently submitting planning applications to both Merton and Wandsworth councils, as the park spans both boroughs. Trump EPA Chief Plans To Kill Climate Science Rule That Drives Green Regulations

The United States Environmental Protection Agency plans to revoke a key scientific finding on climate change that underpins major environmental and pollution regulations. EPA Administrator-designate Lee Zeldin announced Tuesday that the agency would eliminate the 2009 "endangerment finding" linking motor vehicle emissions to climate change and adverse health impacts. Speaking on the Ruthless podcast, Zeldin criticized current approaches to carbon emissions regulation, stating that advocates "say carbon dioxide is a pollutant and that's the end of it" without acknowledging "any type of benefit or need for carbon dioxide." "It's important to note, and they don't, how important it is for the planet," Zeldin said. The endangerment finding, established under President Barack Obama, provides the scientific foundation for regulating greenhouse gas emissions, including vehicle emissions standards. Conservative lawmakers and fossil fuel companies have repeatedly targeted the finding for repeal, though it […]

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the United Kingdom will recognize Palestine as a state by September unless Israel takes specific actions to end the Gaza conflict and commit to lasting peace. Following an emergency cabinet meeting Tuesday, a government statement revealed Starmer's conditions: Israel must agree to a ceasefire, halt plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank, and support a political path toward a two-state solution. Recognition could occur before the UN General Assembly in New York if these demands aren't met. The statement emphasized that "there is no equivalence between Israel and Hamas" and outlined parallel demands for Hamas to release all hostages, agree to a ceasefire, accept exclusion from Gaza's future government, and disarm. Starmer called ministers back from summer holidays to discuss a draft European-led peace initiative and plans for increased humanitarian […]
