Connolly Station Reopens After Commuter Train Incident
Dublin's Connolly Station, a major transport hub in the city centre, has resumed normal operations after a brief suspension of all rail services on Wednesday evening. The suspension was prompted by an incident on board a commuter train arriving at the station, which led to a response from armed Gardaรญ (Irish police). Irish Rail confirmed that An Garda Sรญochรกna (the Irish police force) requested the temporary halt of all services passing through Connolly Station while they addressed a report of "anti-social behaviour" on the incoming train. Gardaรญ issued a statement confirming their presence at the scene and assuring the public that there were no immediate safety concerns. The station has since fully reopened, with the exception of platform 5, which remains temporarily closed, likely as part of the ongoing investigation or necessary checks following the incident.
