Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and the company’s chief people officer, Kristin Cabot, were identified in a viral social media video from a recent Coldplay concert that has generated widespread online discussion.
The incident occurred during a Coldplay performance when frontman Chris Martin was engaging with audience members. Video footage shows two individuals, later identified as Byron and Cabot, appearing to embrace before quickly attempting to conceal their faces when they realized they were being featured on the venue’s screens.
The moment took place during the concert’s Kiss Cam segment at Wednesday’s Boston show. Byron, who is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, was seen alongside Cabot at the Gillette Stadium event. When the camera focused on them, Byron moved to hide behind barriers while Cabot covered her face with her hands.
Martin, unaware of the individuals’ identities or circumstances, commented to the crowd: “Oh, whatโฆ Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.” The stadium audience responded with laughter to the singer’s observation.
Byron has served as Astronomer’s chief executive officer since July 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. Public records indicate that Byron and his wife, Megan Kerrigan, both 50 years old, reside in Northborough. The couple has two children.
Astronomer, a private data infrastructure startup, achieved “unicorn” status in 2022 with a valuation exceeding $1 billion. The company recently relocated its headquarters to New York City.
Before joining Astronomer, Byron worked at Lacework, serving as President from June 2019 to November 2022, then continuing as an Advisor until May 2023. From 2017 to 2019, he held the position of Chief Revenue Officer at Cybereason.
His career history also includes roles as president and chief operating officer at Fuze, as well as previous positions at Vericenter and BMC Software.
The video began circulating on social media platforms on Thursday, drawing attention to the workplace relationship between the two executives. Neither Byron nor Cabot has publicly addressed the footage or the speculation surrounding their relationship.
