Bulgarian actor Stanislav Yanevski, known for portraying Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, has shared details about his recent hospitalization and emergency surgery.
The 40-year-old actor posted on Instagram about his medical experience, which occurred shortly after his birthday. Yanevski was admitted to the hospital due to severe breathing difficulties that required immediate surgical intervention.
In his social media update, accompanied by a photograph taken in his hospital bed post-surgery, Yanevski explained his condition: “Soon after my birthday, I was hospitalized due to inability to breathe. I was taken into surgery, and the photo was taken right after I had come out of the surgical room.”
The actor revealed he had kept his health struggles private initially, stating, “As always, and those who know me closer, I went through this in silence as I didn’t want to scare or worry anybody. I’ve always been this way. I fight through struggles in quiet. Of course, I had support from the few I had told and my family, for which I’m very thankful.”
Yanevski provided an update on his recovery progress, indicating positive developments in his condition. He described how the breathing issues had affected his quality of life over recent months, impacting his ability to sleep properly and experience normal sensory functions like smell.
“I am still recovering, and things are looking great. I will be able to breathe freely, experience all scents of life, which was something I had lost over the past months. I will be able to sleep without struggles, recover properly with peaceful sleep, and be at my full powers very soon,” he shared.
Medical professionals have reportedly informed Yanevski that his recovery is progressing well. The actor expressed gratitude for the support he has received from fans following his public announcement.

Yanevski gained recognition for his role as the Quidditch-playing wizard who participated in the Triwizard Tournament at Hogwarts in the 2005 film.
