Russia Warns US, One Wrong Move and We’ll Unleash Military Fury

Article arrow_drop_down

In an exclusive interview with CNN, Russia’s deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov warned the United States that Moscow will resort to “even stronger military means” if Washington continues to pressure Russia without recognizing its limits.

Ryabkov emphasized the escalating geopolitical tensions, describing current conditions as more volatile than during the Cold War. He accused the West, particularly the US, of underestimating Russia’s resolve to defend its national security interests.

The warning comes as the Biden administration announced a $725 million security assistance package for Ukraine, with nearly $7 billion authorized by Congress to support Ukraine’s defense efforts since the war began in February 2022.

Ryabkov highlighted the potential for military escalation, stating, “There will come a moment when we will see no other choice but to resort to even stronger military means,” though he suggested such action would not be immediate.

The minister also referenced Russia’s nuclear-capable “Oreshnik” ballistic missile, claiming its development was facilitated by former President Trump’s 2019 withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

Regarding potential peace talks, Ryabkov declared the chances for compromise are currently “zero,” suggesting opportunities might emerge only when Kyiv realizes Russia will not compromise its core interests.

UFC Legend Mark Kerr’s Dramatic Life Story Comes to Screen with Dwayne Johnson in Lead Role

UFC pioneer Mark Kerr's tumultuous journey through the early days of mixed martial arts is set to captivate audiences in the upcoming biopic "The Smashing Machine," featuring a transformed Dwayne Johnson in what many are calling his most dramatic role to date. Kerr, now 56, earned his intimidating nickname "The Smashing Machine" through his devastating fighting style during MMA's formative years, when fighters often competed multiple times in a single night. The Ohio native's remarkable career included four first-round stoppage wins at UFC 14 and UFC 15 in 1997, with his longest bout lasting just 133 seconds. However, the film delves beyond Kerr's octagon dominance to explore his harrowing struggle with painkiller addiction, which culminated in a life-threatening overdose in 1999. The biopic draws inspiration from the acclaimed 2002 HBO documentary of the same name that chronicled Kerr's rise, fall, […]

Europe Commemorates 80th Anniversary of VE Day Amid Shifting Security Landscape

Solemn ceremonies will be held at war memorials across France on Thursday as the country marks the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, observed as a public holiday there annually. In Paris, President Emmanuel Macron will lay a wreath at Charles de Gaulle's statue, walk up the Champs-ร‰lysรฉes to the Arc de Triomphe, rekindle the eternal flame at the tomb of the Unknown Warrior, and inspect troops. The ceremony will include a minute's silence, a rendition of the Marseillaise, a speech from Macron on "the values that triumphed in 1945," military bands from six countries, a parade of French armed forces personnel, flags, wartime vehicles, re-enactors, and a flypast. However, France is among the relatively few European countries marking VE Day with such an elaborate ceremony. Some commemorate it more modestly without a public holiday; others call it […]

Irish Green Card Holder, Cliona Ward, Detained Over Decades-Old Convictions

An Irish woman who has legally resided in the United States for four decades has been held in immigration detention for over a week due to criminal convictions from nearly 20 years ago, raising concerns about heightened immigration enforcement practices. Cliona Ward, 54, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials at San Francisco International Airport on April 21 after returning from visiting her ailing father in Ireland. She is currently being held at an ICE detention facility in Tacoma, Washington. Despite possessing a green card, Ward's detention stems from drug possession convictions dating back to 2007 and 2008, which her family maintains she believed had been expunged from her record. The case has prompted diplomatic intervention, with Irish Taoiseach Micheรกl Martin expressing concern about the situation. "Where people have green cards and citizenship rights, there shouldn't be an […]
